Research
Following several years of enrollment declines, SJCC wanted an outside perspective on its application and enrollment process. SJCC was interested in learning if there were barriers or opportunities during the process that were causing some students to choose other institutions or to delay or forgo a college education.
Through a multi-faceted solution, 25th Hour engaged its Review Crew, a diverse group of individuals from outside of higher education, to apply to the college and provide feedback based on a set of metrics drawn from best practices in admissions. To better inform the student experience, 25th Hour engaged with recently enrolled students at SJCC and college faculty, staff and administrators to obtain an overall picture of challenges that students face during enrollment. Data was analyzed and synthesized, providing findings and recommendations, which were also informed by secondary research and best practices in enrollment and admissions.
